Without a doubt, Oscar De La Hoya is one of the most prolific boxers of Mexican descent the world has ever seen. That is a bold exclamation considering how many incredible boxers have come from that heritage, like Julio César Chávez, Ruben Olivares and Salvador Sanchez.
For Bellator featherweight Emmanuel Sanchez, Oscar De La Hoya was the pinnacle.
“When I was a kid, it was like how every kid grows up, you’d grab pillows and start boxing each other, with your friends, or your families and cousins. Back when it was free on TV, or on the pay-per-view, my family would get together,” Sanchez said of watching De La Hoya bouts as a kid.
