The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced a potential barnburner Friday morning.
Rafael dos Anjos will return from a foot injury that prevented him from facing Conor McGregor at UFC 196 to take on challenger Eddie Alvarez on July 7. The event will go down at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and will air exclusively on UFC Fight Pass.
The UFC revealed the news on its official Twitter feed.
Alvarez, 27-4, a former Bellator MMA 155-pound champion, is 2-1 with the UFC with hard-fought wins against Gilbert Melendez and Anthony Pettis.
