It turns out Dustin Poirier was right to turn down a short-notice bout with Norman Parke at UFC Fight Night in Dublin last weekend.
It was announced during “UFC Tonight” on Wednesday that Poirier will face originally scheduled foe Joseph Duffy in a lightweight contest at UFC 195. Duffy had to withdraw from last Saturday’s bout at the last minute after suffering a mild concussion in training.
UFC 195 takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Jan. 2 and is headlined by a welterweight championship tilt pitting Robbie Lawler against Carlos Condit.
