After a failed attempt to become a double champion, Bellator welterweight champion Douglas Lima will return to his familiar weight class in June.
The Brazilian striker is set to face undefeated Ukrainian Yaroslav Amosov in the main event of Bellator 260 on June 11th at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. It’ll be Lima’s first title defense since 2019 and Amosov’s first title fight.
Lima (32-8) challenged Gegard Mousasi for the vacant middleweight title last year, losing a rather lackluster unanimous decision in the Bellator 250 main event. He has won the welterweight belt three times, most recently avenging a prior title defeat to Rory MacDonald by winning the rematch in the Grand Prix final.
