While there is certainly no love lost between Rafael dos Anjos and Conor McGregor, it seems the Irishman has spurred dos Anjos on to eventually challenge for the welterweight title.
When McGregor dethroned featherweight kingpin Jose Aldo at UFC 194, 'The Notorious' immediately announced that he would be challening RDA for the lightweight championship at UFC 196. Unfortunately, dos Anjos pulled out with a broken foot, leaving McGregor to take on late replacement Nate Diaz in his 170-pound debut.
Although the Dubliner lost to Diaz via submission in the second round, dos Anjos seemed curious to try out the welterweight division for himself.
