“The Korean Superboy” is back.
Featherweight prospect Doo Ho Choi is set to return from a near two-year layoff at UFC Busan on Dec. 21 in Busan, South Korea. He will meet Charles Jourdain. UFC officials announced the pairing Wednesday.
South Korea’s Choi began his mandatory military service — which can last between 21 and 24 months — after a January 2018 main-event bout with Jeremy Stephens. Choi lost that fight via second-round TKO.
Choi, 28, made waves early in his UFC career, stopping his first three opponents all in the first round. But after the Stephens loss and a “Fight of the Year” candidate against Cub Swanson, he has lost two in a row.
