With Tim Means sidelined due to a potential USADA violation, Alex Oliveira offered to move up to 170 pounds and take on "Cowboy" Cerrone on short notice in the main event Feb. 21 in Pittsburgh.
Sources close to the situation told MMAFighting.com that the only thing pending is Oliveira’s visa. Combate first reported the news.
Oliveira (14-2-1, 1 NC) moves back to the welterweight division after knocking out Piotr Hallmann in November. Prior to the lightweight bout, the Brazilian defeated K.J. Noons and Joey Merritt in welterweight fights.
