The good news for Donald Cerrone (pictured) is he gets first dibs at UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos. The bad news for Cerrone, one of MMA’s most notoriously active fighters, is he’ll have to wait until at least December when dos Anjos returns from a torn MCL in his knee to get his crack at the crown.
Cerrone’s agenda was reported on this week’s edition of “UFC Tonight.”
Cerrone cemented his top contender status last month by beating John Makdessi at UFC 187. It was “Cowboy’s” eighth consecutive victory.
While Cerrone initially appeared content with sitting the sidelines until dos Anjos returned, he recently tweeted that six months might be too long of a break for him.
