Shortly after Demetrious Johnson’s departure, there were reports that the UFC’s 125 lb division will be abolished. Many flyweights have already announced their release, while other fighters are said to be moving up to bantamweight.
That was also the assumption for flyweight champion Henry Cejudo, who has long been rumored to move up for a match up against bantamweight king T.J. Dillashaw. The super-fight is indeed likely to happen, as Combate has reported that it is in the works for UFC 233. What’s surprising given the recent events though, is that according to ESPN, the championship bout will instead be hosted at flyweight.
