'Different' Emanuel Newton plans to reclaim Light Heavyweight gold, starting with Phil Davis at 'Dynamite 1'

Former Light Heavyweight champion Emanuel Newton was consistently underestimated by his opponents at their own peril. And he undoubtedly hopes Phil Davis makes the same mistake this weekend.

Everyone has seen Emanuel Newton do it, yet somehow, no one ever sees it coming.

Just ask Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal. He probably thought he was on his way to the finals of Bellator's Season 8 Light Heavyweight tournament, but a first round spinning backfist from doom (see it) said otherwise.

Just ask "The Swarm" Linton Vassell, too. He hadn't lost a fight since 2010 and seemed perfectly primed to end Newton's run as the Bellator 205-pound champion, but fell victim to a rear-naked choke in the final round.
