In February Gina Carano was fired from her plum job as Cara Dune in the hit Star Wars spin-off The Mandalorian. Her canning came after months of controversial social media activity, which included one post that compared being criticized for political views in the modern United States to the genocide of Jewish people in Nazi-era Germany.
In announcing her firing Lucasfilm, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, said “there are no plans” for her to be future employed with the company. Lucasfilm’s statement also called Carano’s behaviour on social media “abhorrent and unacceptable.
