Another key welterweight scrap is heading to Minnesota.
On Thursday afternoon, MMAFighting confirmed an initial report from Combate of UFC officials targeting a fight between Demian Maia and Anthony Rocco Martin for UFC Minneapolis in June.
Maia (26-9), a former UFC middleweight and welterweight title challenger, will look to continue his winning ways after submitting former Bellator champion Lyman Good at UFC Fortaleza in June. This victory not only got Maia back into the ‘W’ column, but marked his 13th professional submission win.
Prior to that fight against Good, fans saw Maia come up short to former champion Tyron Woodley, interim champion Colby Covington and current champion Kamaru Usman
Martin (16-4), on the other hand, has been perfect since making the jump from lightweight to welterweight.
