Former pound-for-pound No. 1 Demetrious Johnson had initially received a seven day medical suspension by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) after his championship loss to Henry Cejudo at UFC 227.
But, after further review, CSAC executive director Andy Foster has suspended ‘Mighty Mouse’ indefinitely due to reports of a knee injury, per MMA Junkie’s Steven Marrocco. The former flyweight champion will need medical clearance by a doctor before he’s able to compete again.
Johnson, who lost his flyweight title after almost six years on the throne, defending his belt a record-breaking eleven times, believes he suffered a ‘high-grade’ LCL tear but will be able to avoid surgery and rehabilitate his knee within six weeks.
