Daniel Cormier will defend his UFC heavyweight title for the first time in less than a month.
“DC” is set to fight Derrick Lewis in the UFC 230 main event, ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported Tuesday afternoon. Okamoto reported Monday that the title fight was in the works but not yet a done deal.
Cormier is coming off a first-round knockout of Stipe Miocic at UFC 226 in July, when he captured the heavyweight championship, becoming a two-division UFC champ. Cormier, who also holds the light heavyweight title, will likely be soon stripped of that belt.
