Daniel Cormier is apparently willing to defend his UFC light heavyweight title against a slew of contenders.
Since capturing the heavyweight championship with a knockout of Stipe Miocic earlier this month at UFC 226, “DC” has been called out by numerous fighters at both light heavyweight and heavyweight.
Cormier made it clear after his win over Miocic that he’s only willing to take big fights before retiring in March. The American Kickboxing Academy product is expected to meet Brock Lesnar early next year, but he’ll likely defend the 205-pound belt before that.
Alexander Gustafsson was a name Cormier mentioned directly after UFC 226 regarding a potential future title defense at light heavyweight, but the double champ recently shut down any chance of that rematch happening forever.
