Dana White: UFC 196 trending toward biggest PPV event of all time with 1.5 million buys

From Dana White's mouth to your ears, the UFC president is telling the truth when it comes to the epic UFC 196 pay-per-view (PPV), perhaps becoming one of the most profitable events put on by the leading mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion.

White told media assembled at the post-fight press conference (replay) that the PPV event, with two underdogs Nate Diaz and Miesha Tate pulling off outstanding upsets, could compete for the No. 1 most successful PPV crown of all time.

Now, according to a UFC press release (via MMA Junkie), the promotion has indeed confirmed that when all the numbers are tallied, UFC 196 will at least go down as the highest grossing PPV in company history, in part due to the $5 increase in price point last year.
