The UFC finally reached a verdict for its middleweight contender conundrum. UFC President Dana White announced Wednesday on UFC Tonight that Luke Rockhold, not Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza, will be the next challenger for Chris Weidman's UFC middleweight throne.
"We don't have the fight set up yet, we don't know when it's going to be. But that will be the fight," White said. "Luke Rockhold will get the next shot at the title."
The race to the belt has been a neck-and-neck one between Rockhold and Souza, with both former Strikeforce champions rocketing to the top of the division following the UFC-Strikeforce merger.
