Khabib Nurmagomedov was able to choke out Conor McGregor to remain the UFC lightweight champion in the UFC 229 main event, but the biggest fight in UFC history was marred by ugly scenes after McGregor tapped out in the fourth round. Khabib angrily pointed at Conor’s teammate Dillon Danis, then jumped the cage and went after him, causing complete mayhem to ensue outside the cage. Inside the Octagon, two of Khabib’s teammates entered the fold and McGregor was attacked, and it took awhile for everyone to be separated and heads to cool down.
Nurmagomedov left the cage before the official announcement was read, and so did McGregor.
