Dana White fires back at Anderson Silva as ‘Spider’ squawks about UFC mistreatment

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion Anderson Silva was so valuable to the world’s preeminent mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion — even after acting like a jackass — that UFC President Dana White and then-CEO Lorenzo Fertitta gave him one of this richest contracts in combat sports.

Turns out they probably could have just said “thank you” and saved the company a few million bucks.

“The Spider” went on record to complain about the promotion’s lack of gratitude, stemming from a short-notice fight the Brazilian took after Jon Jones pissed a hole through a Dixie cup ahead of UFC 200.
