UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is officially back in action. The undefeated Dagestani will unify the 155-pound title against interim champion Dustin Poirier at UFC 242 this September.
With Khabib back in action and Conor McGregor back in the gym, the conversation about a rematch between the two is back in the table, as well. UFC president Dana White, for one, sees it happening in the near future.
“He’s training,” White said of McGregor on SportsCenter on Tuesday (via MMA Fighting). “Obviously we’ll sit back and we’ll watch how this whole thing plays out with these fights and see where Conor fits in and what he wants to do next.
