Curtis Blaydes vs. Daniel Omielanczuk targeted for UFC 213

A heavyweight tilt between UFC prospect Curtis Blaydes and top-15 ranked Daniel Omielanczuk is slated to take place July 8 at UFC 213. Blaydes announced on the match-up Wednesday on Instagram following a report by Dutch outlet MMADNA.

Blaydes (6-1, 1 NC), a 26-year-old heavyweight prospect out of Illinois, returns to action after seeing his February win over Adam Milstead wiped away by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) due to a positive test for marijuana at UFC Fight Night 104. In addition to having his win overturned into a no-contest, Blaydes also received a 90-day suspension and $1,000 fine from the TDLR, however he was not punished by USADA, as Texas’ archaic cannabis policies are much more stringent than the 150 ng/ml in-competition threshold maintained by USADA.
