A report emerged on Sunday from Brazil’s Combate that featherweight veteran Cub Swanson was set to rematch former WEC and UFC champion Jose Aldo at UFC 233 in January. According to Swanson, however, that is not the case.
Swanson tweeted on Monday that he isn’t fighting on the UFC’s first PPV event of 2019, but would be down for taking on Aldo one month later.
I love this fight but unfortunately somebody spoke too soon. I am not fighting on 233 but I am willing to do it February 17th on ESPN 1

That February 17th date he mentioned is the UFC’s first Fight Night show on ESPN television, and no fights have been announced for that card yet.
