Cub Swanson decided to squeeze in one more combat sports appearance before the end of 2019 and it proved costly.
Following a unanimous decision win over Kron Gracie at UFC Tampa in October—Swanson’s first victory in over two years—the featherweight veteran announced that due to a hand injury and minor lacerations on his eyes it was unlikely that he would be fighting again before the new year. However, he found time to participate in the Quintet Ultra grappling event on Dec. 12 in Las Vegas as a representative of Team WEC.
