Cris Cyborg is all cleared to return to UFC competition after USADA granted her a retroactive Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) for Spironolactone, a banned diuretic she tested positive for in an out-of-competition drug test in December. It’s a major victory for the Brazilian women’s featherweight force, who was facing the second drug test ban of her career.
In an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Cyborg revealed that she lost out on endorsements during her appeal, but was grateful for the way the process played out between her team and USADA. (Transcription via MMA Fighting)
“It was a tough time, but I knew I did nothing wrong, I had not cheated,” Cyborg said.
