Covington on McGregor’s media absence: ‘He’s a coked up little leprechaun who’s getting a little soft’

Save for some sporadic social media activity, Conor McGregor has kept himself away from any media appearances through the build up of his upcoming title fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 on October 6th in Las Vegas. This has reportedly left the UFC “frustrated” that one of their most prized fighters “hasn’t been pushing the fight hard” enough.

Welterweight contender Colby Covington says he understands McGregor on some level, given that the former UFC double-champion has been in Ireland focused on his training.

“I completely understand where he’s coming from,” Covington said in a recent interview with BJPenn.
