Miguel Cotto defended his WBC middleweight title with an easy 4 round beating of Australia's Daniel Geale at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Miguel Cotto (40-4, 33 KOs) and Daniel Geale (31-5, 17 KOs) headlined HBO's World Championship Boxing card at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Cotto was putting his WBC middleweight (160 lbs) title on the line, but demanded the fight be contested at a 157 lbs catchweight. Geale was visibly drained at the weigh-ins making 157, and entered tonight weighing in at an astonishing 182. Cotto, a welterweight for much of his career, tipped the scales at 153 lbs on Friday, which is literally below the JUNIOR middleweight limit.
