Wednesday was a rough one for Showtime Sports vice president Stephen Espinoza.
First, he had to issue a statement on behalf of Showtime after Conor McGregor’s microphone got cut off during day one of the Mayweather vs. McGregor World Tour on Tuesday in Los Angeles.
Showtime denied McGregor’s accusation that the company was responsible for his mic's failure, a storyline which commanded many of the headlines coming out of the event at Staples Center.
Then Espinoza took the stage in Toronto to kick off day two of the tour, and his speech was all but drowned out by the jeers of the audience.
