Conor McGregor files for trademarks on name, ‘Notorious’ nickname

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion and budding pro boxer Conor McGregor continues to build his brand (lots of that going around these days) while enjoying a 10-month hiatus from mixed martial arts (MMA).

His latest endeavor includes tradmarks filed for his name, as well as his “Notorious” nickname. So if you want to use anything McGregor related — assuming said trademark gets approved — you can expect to pay through the nose.

The two filings, which were recently posted on the website for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, state that McGregor intends to use the trademarks with products such as aftershave, video games, books, clothing, restaurants, barbershops and health clubs.
