Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) interim featherweight champion Conor McGregor was accused of "selling out" when pictures surfaced online that featured the "Notorious" Irishman sporting a remembrance poppy, a pin designed to commemorate servicemen and women killed in combat.
The remembrance poppy is especially prominent in the United Kingdom, according to Wikipedia.
McGregor, who is being called the second-biggest star in all of mixed martial arts (MMA), was celebrating his ability to sell out events, which prompted this tweet from an incensed fan:
