It’s been two weeks since the shocking announcement that the UFC had released Mexican featherweight prospect Yair Rodriguez, whom Dana White decided wasn’t worth keeping around after alleging that Yair turned down fights against Ricardo Lamas and Zabit Magomedsharipov. Rodriguez claims he accepted bouts against both men, but Lamas chose to fight Mirsad Bektic instead, whereas he wanted more money to fight Magomedsharipov at UFC 227 in Los Angeles.
One of the logical landing spots for Rodriguez would figure to be Combate Americas, the upstart promotion aimed at the Latin American community.
