Perhaps the most confident fighter to emerge from UFC Fight Night 111 in Singapore on Saturday was rising welterweight talent Colby Covington.
The American Top Team representative was suffocating in his showdown with Dong Hyun Kim, landing eight takedowns and controlling virtually all the grappling exchanges with the South Korean judoka. The end result was a dominant unanimous decision win that included 30-25 and 30-26 scorecards from the cageside judges. The only other people to beat Kim in UFC competition: current champion Tyron Woodley, top contender Demian Maia and former interim titlist Carlos Condit.
