Coach: UFC offered Cejudo ‘very low’ pay for title shot, and everyone told him not to accept

According to Henry Cejudo’s coach Eric Albarracin, the UFC gave a very low offer for his championship at UFC 227. It’s something that people around him told him he shouldn’t accept, but the UFC would’ve given the title shot to someone else.

“To tell you the truth, Henry did not get a lot of money for this fight,” Albarracin told ESPN’s Ariel Helwani. (transcipt via MMA Mania) “Everybody told him ‘Don’t take the fight.’ No one knows this but Henry had a very low ... almost took a paycut to take this fight.”
