Tyron Woodley will look to defend his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight title for the very first time when he faces off against striking specialist Stephen Thompson in the co-main event of this weekend’s (Sat., Nov. 12, 2016) UFC 205 pay-per-view (PPV) event from inside Madison Square Garden in New York City.
It’s a fight that will pit one of the most unique strikers in Thompson against a champion who packs the power to sleep a baby elephant. For one of Woodley’s coaches, Duke Roufus, the fight reminds him of the memorable boxing title fight between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier, which went down on March 8, 1971.
