Even in the best of circumstances, fighters are rarely 100 percent healthy when they go into the cage, and Jon Jones was no exception at UFC 214.
According to Jones’s coach Mike Winkeljohn, the UFC light heavyweight king suffered an injury to his arm in training just two days before his rematch with then-champion Daniel Cormier.
“A couple of nights before the fight, he couldn’t lift his arm. He had hurt it wrestling,” Winkeljohn told Submission Radio. “He wrestled a little too hard with his partner and maybe from a lack of warm up, I’m not sure, but it was kind scary.
