Aside from the highly controversial UFC 229 post-fight brawl, one of the most shocking moments of the main event was Khabib Nurmagomedov dropping Conor McGregor with a crushing right hand in the second round.
McGregor who, prior to UFC 229 had never been dropped, was floored by Khabib but recovered instantly. The narrative going into the fight was that McGregor would have a clear advantage on the feet, but that wasn’t the case on Saturday night.
Speaking to Joe Rogan in a recent interview, SBG Ireland head coach John Kavanagh said ‘The Notorious’ was ‘very disappointed’ that he got caught with such a wild, looping right hand by his opponent.
