This card has been brilliantly violent. Horrifying at times, yes. But only if you really want to get introspective about it. What we just saw was yet another violent battle but this time the stakes were raised with the middleweight title in the middle of the Octagon, ready to be bled on.
The old lion, Belfort opened up with the old-school Vitor Belfort hand speed, and truly opened up on Weidman, sending him reeling but covering up wisely and expertly. Only when Weidman could take a breath did he step back, change levels and take Belfort down with ease.
