Shortly after Chris Weidman destroyed Vitor Belfort at the UFC 187 pay-per-view (PPV) event last May, the "All American" champion grabbed the microphone and asked everyone in the mixed martial arts (MMA) universe to join his team.
And it didn't take long for UFC featherweight No. 1 contender Conor McGregor to enlist.
Now, Weidman is returning that favor by joining Team Irish, picking "Notorious" by way of technical knockout in the UFC 189 main event, where McGregor will meet Jose Aldo on July 11, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
"I'm a big fan of Aldo, but I think McGregor's winning the fight.
