The main event for Bellator NYC witnessed the long awaited grudge match between Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva. Silva was able to do some damage on the feet, but it was Sonnen who was able to routinely score the takedown and work from top position. Sonnen picked up the unanimous decision victory, and is now 1-1 in the Bellator promotion.
Round 1 - Chael with a front kick. He’s in on a takedown immediately and gets it. Elbows and a right from Chael against the cage. He’s landing hard. Silva can’t lock him down.
