In the first ever undisputed men’s junior middleweight title fight of the four-belt era, Jermell Charlo (34-1-1, 18 KOs) and Brian Castano (17-0-2, 12 KOs) fought to an incredible split decision draw.
The opening round saw Charlo backing himself against the ropes, attempting to counter any mistake Castano made whilst pressing forward. Charlo’s gameplan proved successful in the second round when he landed a left hook counter that wobbled Castano.
At the end of the third round, both men were exchanging hooks against the ropes. Castano blocked a hook from Charlo whilst landing a left hand of his own that stunned ‘Iron Man.
