Chad Mendes vs. Alex Volkanovski added to UFC 232

A pivotal featherweight clash is on tap for UFC 232 on December 29th.

UFC officials announced on Tuesday that two-time title challenger Chad Mendes will face rising Australian standout Alex Volkanovski on the promotion’s year-end pay-per-view event. There’s no word on whether or not it’ll be on the main card or preliminary card.

Mendes (18-4) returned from his two-year USADA suspension this past July, impressively knocking out Myles Jury in the first-round of their UFC Boise encounter. It was Mendes’ first win since he finished Ricardo Lamas in April 2015. After that first-round TKO, “Money” lost on short notice to Conor McGregor, then was knocked out by Frankie Edgar before testing positive for the banned substance GHRP-6, a growth hormone.
