A Brazilian heavyweight prospect’s UFC career has been derailed before it even began.
Carlos Felipe failed a USADA out-of-competition drug test stemming from a sample collected July 29, the UFC announced Tuesday night. As a result of the potential anti-doping policy violation, Felipe has been pulled from his potential debut bout against Christian Columbo at UFC Sao Paulo on Oct. 28.
The UFC will seek out a replacement to face Columbo on the card, per the release.
Felipe (8-0) has won six of his eight career bouts by knockout of TKO, most recently against Sandro Bezerra on a Bahia regional card in May.
