The Nevada Athletic Commission on Tuesday suspended Carlos Diego Ferreira 12 months for testing positive for a banned substance prior to a proposed bout against Abel Trujillo at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas on May 29.
The commission voted unanimously to suspended Ferreira, who tested positive for ostarine in an out-of-competition drug test prior to the lightweight bout. Ferreira’s suspension is retroactive to April 30, and he must submit a clean drug test prior to his return. The fighter was not fined by the NAC.
Ostarine is a selective androgen receptor modulator that can aid steroid-like muscle growth without the side effects.
