UFC fans are accustomed to having “stacked” pay-per-view events in which just about every fight on a main card has some sort of redeeming value instead of being pointless filler. American boxing pay-per-views historically do not really offer anything of consequence beyond the main event. Occasionally you get a solid co-main event, if not a very good one.
For at least one night, the undercard for the Gennady Golovkin vs. Canelo Alvarez rematch has intrigue for literally every fight. Not necessarily in 50-50 matchmaking, but in pre-fight storylines and what the future holds for several of the men competing on Saturday night’s mega-event.
