Canelo Alvarez vs. Rocky Fielding preview and full fight week coverage

For the first time in his career, Canelo Alvarez (50-1-2, 34 KOs) will be moving up to 168 lbs, as he takes on WBA “regular” super-middleweight champion Rocky Fielding (27-1, 15 KOs) at Madison Square Garden in New York.

After a thrilling majority decision win over Gennady Golovkin, middleweight champion Alvarez opted to sign with DAZN on an 11-fight, $365 million mega contract. Technically speaking, it’s 10 fights and $350 million, and the one-off he’s having with Fielding at 168 lbs is presumably a $15 million guarantee. He intends to return to middleweight in 2019, but felt there was no need to cut weight to get to 160 twice in a three-month span.
