Alistair Overeem’s legitimacy as a heavyweight title contender cannot be denied.
The hulking Dutchman earned another significant triumph in the UFC Fight Night Rotterdam headliner on Sunday, knocking out Jackson-Wink stablemate Andrei Arlovski with a jumping front kick and punches 1:12 into the second round. After the bout, Overeem called for a chance to face the winner of the UFC 198 heavyweight championship tilt between Fabricio Werdum and Stipe Miocic when the promotion makes its debut in New York on Nov. 12.
Whether that wish will be granted remains to be seen.
