Brian Ebersole retires after UFC Fight Night 68 loss: 'I cheated the system'

One of MMA's true characters apparently called it quits Saturday night.

Veteran Brian Ebersole made a statement which sounded like retirement after his injury TKO loss to Omari Akhmedov at UFC Fight Night 68 in New Orleans.

"I'm old, everything hurts," Ebersole said in a postfight quote distributed by the UFC. "Lifetime of wrestling takes a toll on you, getting your head pulled, knees banged up - I'm going to leave it to the young guys now. That's it for me."

A 34-year old Indiana native, Ebersole logged 70 career bouts, finished with a record of 51-17-1 with 1 no-contest.
