History was made last weekend during the UFC’s debut event in Shenzhen, China. Rising contender Weili Zhang dethroned Jessica Andrade via first-round stoppage, making her the first UFC champion out of China.
Even UFC president Dana White was left in awe of how Zhang “looked like one of the most vicious women on planet Earth” that night. Former UFC heavyweight fighter Brendan Schaub, however, was left unimpressed.
“People are Tweeting me saying ‘Oh what’s up now Schaub, didn’t call Zhang over Jessica Andrade,’” he said in a recent episode of his Below the Belt podcast (via BJPenn.
