Brazilian lightweight fails USADA drug test, removed from UFC Fight Night 88

The USADA era of the UFC claims another victim. This time around, the fighter on the wrong end of the drug testing spectrum is Brazilian lightweight fighter Carlos Diego Ferreira. Ferreira was scheduled to face Abel Trujillo at UFC Vegas: Almeida vs. Garbrandt, but has been flagged for "a potential anti-doping policy violation," as the result of a recent out-of-competition drug test. The UFC made the news public via press release

As such, Ferreira has been removed from the card. A new opponent is being sought for Abel Trujillo.

The 31-year old fighter training out of Houston, Texas was coming off a reasonably high profile win over TUF finalist Olivier Aubin-Mercier just this January at UFC on Fox 18.
