BRAVE CF won’t pay fighters for cancelled events during coronavirus pandemic

Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion BRAVE CF pulled the plug on their next three cards during the coronavirus pandemic, and fighters will not be compensated financially.

BRAVE CF’s upcoming card was scheduled for March 28 in Balneario Camboriu, Brazil, and featured the start of the company’s flyweight tournament, including UFC veterans Jose Torres and Matheus Nicolau and a lightweight title bout between Cleiton Silva and Luan Santiago.

MMA Fighting reached out to BRAVE CF officials asking if fighters were to be fully paid — or a percentage of it — since the event was cancelled under unique circumstances, but the promotion won’t compensate them because “the event hasn’t been cancelled, it was postponed.
