UFC flyweight contender Brandon Moreno will receive no punishment after testing positive for a banned substance that was “determined to have been ingested by him without fault or negligence,” USADA announced Wednesday.
Moreno tested positive for trace amounts of the banned substance clenbuterol in an in-competition urine test administered in the early hours of Aug. 6 following his UFC Fight Night 114 loss to Sergio Pettis in Mexico City. A subsequent investigation led USADA officials to rule that the trace presence of clenbuterol in Moreno’s system “very likely resulted from clenbuterol contaminated meat consumed in Mexico.
